Our History
Since 1906, one or more Faure Brothers Corporation facilities have provided quality distribution and warehouse management services.
Faure Brothers Corporation is the parent company of three independent third-party (public) warehouse operations. Amy Faure-Crohan, granddaughter of one of the company’s early operators and founders, serves as President and CEO.
Great Lakes Warehouse Corporation
Great Lakes Warehouse Corporation originated in 1906 as Great Lakes Storage Company. The original building at 11 Industrial Road in Hammond, Indiana provided warehousing services for Albert Dickinson Company and Continental Seed Company.
In 1923, the building was acquired from Continental Seed Company and the business was incorporated as Great Lakes Warehouse Corporation to provide general warehousing and storage of goods, wares, merchandise, grain, and other commodities. It continues today providing the services identified in its Articles of Incorporation.
Our Companies
Gateway Warehouse Co., Inc.
Calumet City, Illinois
Originated in 1966 as a 25,000 square foot build-to-suit facility. Today it consists of approximately 240,000 square feet, including the 42,000 square foot addition completed in 2002.
Illiana Transit Warehouse Corp.
Hammond, Indiana
Originally part of the Pullman Rail Car complex, the three buildings operated by Illiana total nearly 240,000 square feet.
Great Lakes Warehouse
Calumet City, Illinois & Hammond, Indiana
Originating in Hammond in 1906, Great Lakes now operates facilities in both Indiana and Illinois, including buildings acquired and constructed between 1999 and 2000.
Today
Faure Brothers Corporation’s three warehouse campuses currently cover approximately 840,000 square feet.
Our Warehouse Management System, Cadre’s Accuplus, provides efficient document preparation, accurate inventory management, radio frequency communications, EDI services, reporting capabilities, future systems flexibility, and customer access to receiving, shipping, and inventory information through LogiView. The system is upgraded as necessary to meet customer and internal requirements.
